After Maeve had listened to the entirety of her father’s story, she could hardly wait another aching second before venturing off to Ribeauvillé. She mounted her beautiful and majestic steed, Delayna, and started off towards the town of her mother’s youth.
The thought disheartened her spirits, reminding her that the High Lady, Belle—referring to her mother—was terribly sick. She had been in a deep, prolonged slumber, and there was no sign of her awaken that had stirred for even a moments notice. All that aside, though, the small, naive girl was brimming with hope the her dearest and most beloved mother would awake. Not only was Maeve’s beloved mother fearfully sick, a strangle snow and fog had fallen upon the Black Forest completely in the middle of the usual humid and dry season of July. As cold as it was, it did bring Maeve a completion of joy seeing as she could ride her adored and cherished, Delayna, in the most dreamy, whimsical aesthetic there had ever came to be.
The journey through the Black Forest was short, and coming to its journeys’ end. Precious as it was, Maeve was gleefully delighted to finally have the white lulling wide sky be visible once again. It surprised her greatly, though, as she and her faithful Delayna, could finally glimpse the edge of the woods where there was a sudden sharp cut-off between snow and green grass. Quick moments passed by, and abruptly as she and Delayna departed from the cold, winter woods warmth corrupted through-out her. Oh, how wonderful it felt for the icy touch to have left, and the memory of feeling making its way back into her fingertips!
In the distance upon the set dirt path was a small village-Ribeauvillé! It was here at last, and was only a few passing minutes away from her grasp! Maeve was already imagining the cheerful villager’s laughter, and the nude colored cottages from her mother’s fairytale stories that seemed to be true. Delayna couldn’t go fast enough to fill Maeve’s full satisfaction, but with well taught patience she held in her excitement until they had finally entered the childhood home of her mother. The village of Ribeauvillé!
